O aneurisma de aorta consiste na dilatação das paredes da aorta,
que é a maior artéria do corpo humano e que leva o sangue arterial
do coração para todas as outras partes. Dependendo do local da
aorta que é afetado, o aneurisma de aorta pode ser dividido em dois
tipos:
Embora não cause qualquer sintoma ou problema de saúde, o maior
risco do aneurisma de aorta é o seu rompimento, que pode causar
uma hemorragia interna grave, colocando a vida em risco em poucos
minutos.
O tratamento consiste na colocação de uma endoprótese, através da
região inguinal, que irá revestir a aorta abdominal doente, excluindo o
aneurisma e evitando a ruptura da aorta.
