A fístula arteriovenosa (FAV) é uma anastomose (conexão) entre uma
artéria e uma veia periférica superficial. É feita cirurgicamente mais
frequentemente nos membros superiores, de preferência no braço
não dominante.
A fístula arteriovenosa (FAV) é o acesso vascular preferido para a
realização de hemodiálise, para aqueles pacientes que tem
insuficiência renal, pela sua facilidade de utilização e pelos poucos
riscos que apresenta comparativamente com as outras opções.
